Here’s some random weirdness for your viewing pleasure. We kicked off the #FlyingOnInstruments tour Thursday when the band showed up for a rehearsal, then we played a “live rehearsal” that night in the rehearsal room.
Last night after a visit to the Batcave we played to an enthusiastic packed house at the Doghouse in Grosetto. @vanessa peters and the #Electrofonics killed it. Great way to kick off #vptour2024!
Tonight @vanessa_peters and the #Electrofonics // #Bologna #Italy (but without Patteo ). Soundcheck was loud! Tonight we rock!
Grazie mille @vanessa_peters & the #Electrofonics è stato veramente longher. Thus concludes #vptour2021 * now time for #recordingsession 2022 in #texas!
As usual I forgot to take a photo of tonight’s sold-out concert at @circolonedilegnano // Legnano. What a great show! Special thanks to sound guy Andrea who figured it all out in real-time. Longher davvero — grazie #Electrofonics voi spaccate!
HELLO CLEVELAND! @vanessa_peters and the #Electrofonics have landed at @tivolivredenburg for the #ramblinrootsfestival and we are ready to rock! We might even play Stonehenge, idk.
Tonight! #livemusic @vanessa_peters and the #Electrofonics at the Cactus Cafe in #hengelo!
So grateful to these dudes for their time and dedication – – can’t wait to share some of the #newmusic we’ve been making! Thanks guys! #Electrofonics @ciancaguitar @andrea_colicchia @matteo_patrone
✌️ Hey y’all. Over three years ago, @vanessa_peters and I started recording some cover songs for shits and giggles. We asked Chris Holt if he’d jump in on a few songs and he was like, “hellsyeah.” Along the way we hooked up with “Beppe” @joereyesmusic for a track, “Peel Me A Grape, Bill” @clifffsmusic for a track, the DELONGHER #Electrofonics for a track…. And after a while, “Mixtape” was born!
.
The album DROPS ON TIME April 24th on digital download and CD. Head to vanessapeters.bandcamp.com for ordering info.
.
This album features hot tracks by @joe_pernice_brothers, @thenational, @yoharmer, @davidbazan, @theweakerthans, @pattygmusic, and @eelstheband among others. A Camp Rowan production. Don’t be afraid to be awesome.
Feeling nostalgic tonight. Last month I was supposed to be on tour with @vanessa_peters and the #Electrofonics in – – of all places – – Lombardy, #Italy. And then we were supposed to head over to #Austin to record a new album at an amazing studio. Obviously those plans got smashed to tiny pieces thanks to our common enemy #COVID19. I’ve kept a positive outlook so far. I know we’ll get through this eventually. But tonight I’m feeling a real pang of nostalgia for my Electrofonics friends @ciancaguitar, @andrea_colicchia, and @matteo_patrone. Our little band from Rome has turned into a true lifelong friendship.
Vi voglio proprio bene ragazzi. C’è la faremo di sicuro – – ma ora mi mancate davvero. ❤️❤️❤️ Love you guys. We got this. Longheeeer!
➡️ Just a reminder that @vanessa_peters demo session recording of “Make Up My Mind” is really badass. We were supposed to be in the studio this week recording an album of amazing songs with the whole #Electrofonics band, but that was before this little pandemic-thingy happened.
.
But the album will get made, come what may. In the meantime you can check out this video and a few other demos of songs that will be appearing on the new album over on Vanessa’s YouTube channel.
✴️✴️Link in bio ✴️✴️ Greetings from #quarantine! First things first: no this song wasn’t written about the pandemic, but it sure feels like it was. We recorded the audio for this song during our demo sessions in Germany last November. We were supposed to be in the studio in Austin next week to track the album for real, but obviously that isn’t happening. So instead we decided to make a video of ourselves playing the song.
.
Here’s a survival tip from someone who’s been in isolation now for 20 days, and we’re looking at another 20+. Stay positive! Avoid getting sucked into the Bad News Cycle. There is going to be a lot of bad news that, at least for the time being, you’re going to be completely powerless to stop. Don’t perseverate. You control what messages you feed your brain.
.
There will be a time later for mourning and for well-deserved pitchforks, but for now, please put your own mental health first. This is going to be a long ride. Read books. Listen to music. Paint. Sketch. Write a chapter for that novel you’ve wanted to write. Exercise. Eat well. Love yourself. Love your neighbor.
.
We’ve still got time on this earth. Make the best of it.

Over three years ago, @vanessa_peters and I started recording some cover songs for shits and giggles. We asked the magnificent Chris Holt if he’d jump in on a few songs and he was like, “natch.” Along the way we hooked up with @joereyesmusic for a track, @clifffsmusic for a track, the #Electrofonics for a track…. “The Village” demo from our sessions in the Netherlands. Recorded Nov. 2019, seems ominously prophetic. Link in bio. Instagram A/V sync sux, not my fault.

Tonight we completed #vptour2019 with our show at @jubez.karlsruhe. We’ve been on the road for a little over two weeks and have covered much of #Germany and #Netherlands. While we were on the road we also recorded new @vanessa_peters songs and even some new covers.
Tomorrow we make the long haul back through Switzerland and down into Italy to drop off the #Electrofonics who are craving pasta like junkies. Ok it’s true, so are we
Finished soundcheck and we’re ready for the last show of #vptour2019 tonight at @jubez.karlsruhe
To the #Electrofonics – @ciancaguitar @andrea_colicchia @matteo_patrone – it has been a real pleasure working with you guys on this tour. You’re not only professional but also great kissers Rifacciamo l’anno prossimo ok? #delongher
Tonight’s gig was a story to be told. We drove almost six hours today – – practically to the Czech Republic (and /or Poland) and pulled up next to this hulking ruin of a building in BFE with what looked like a creepy pedo ice cream truck in front. We were pretty freaked out, no lie. But inside was a splendid rock club that took all of us completely by surprise. Turns out the building was a munitions factory last operating during the first world war.
It was big, too! As we set up for soundcheck we were wondering “who the hell is going to fill this place up?” But then the people starting arriving… And by the time we went on the place was jammed – – standing room only! We played two sets (the first set of back catalog stuff, second set was #foxholeprayers start to finish) and they loved it – – called us back for two encores and wanted more but we were out of material. Stupid me, I only got a photo after the show was over and the place was clearing out but I won’t forget this show! It wasn’t the biggest crowd we’ve played to, but it was definitely the most surprising.
The tour ends tomorrow, and I’ve been sick now for three weeks but honestly I don’t want it to end. The shows have been fantastic and the #Electrofonics (@ciancaguitar + @andrea_colicchia + @matteo_patrone + me) have become a super tight backing band especially over the last few weeks of touring.
I’m also super proud of my bestie @vanessa_peters for being the consummate rockstar onstage and off – – we’ve all pulled together through some real hardships over the last few weeks and brought the A-game – – and it shows in our performances. Tonight we brought the house down. I’d do this every day for the rest of my life if I could.
WOW! #Zwickau we ❤️ you! Terrific sound, terrific audience, packed house, big sing-along encore – – nights like tonight are why we do this crazy thing. We can’t wait to come back next year with the #Electrofonics and a #newalbum to play for you guys. THANK YOU to the crew at #Liederbuch for your warm hospitality and great fun. See you soon!! #concert #rock #folkrock #vptour2019 #music #livemusic #Germany #dallas #Dallasmusic #dallasmusician #texas #igmusic #texasmusic #delongher
