In case anyone is concerned about the wisdom of playing live music during the times of covid… Well, so are we. We have a process that we go through before every show:
1. Are there any local cases in our town (Lucca)? We don’t want to bring covid to another city. Currently Lucca has essentially zero local cases.
2. Are there any local cases where we’re playing? We don’t want to catch it, or encourage local transmission. The area around Salice Terme has essentially zero local cases.
3. Is the concert being responsibly managed? Will people be seated and distanced? Is the venue operator sufficiently paranoid? Luckily, everyone here is reasonably paranoid.
If cases start to pick up in Lucca, or in the town where we’re playing, we are prepared to cancel even up until the day of the show.

That stunned look on my face is because I was stunned to have made it to the top. I have some fear of heights and about 30 mins of the climb was on a slippery crumbling trail with a very, very steep drop-off. Eeek! But we made it!
