Happy 39th to my incredibly beautiful and brilliant and talented and hilarious partner in misadventure and silliness. You slay me Pete.
What a night! @vanessa_peters killed it opening for the inestimable @officialmatthewsweet who just slew us all with a beautiful recounting of all of the hits! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Matthew is one of my all time heroes and he and his whole band were kind and gracious both on stage and off. It was wonderful also meeting his insanely talented band esp one of my drum idols Ric Menck (@mencker) who is just as steady as ever, truly one of the great powerpop groove drummers. I about broke my neck bobbing to his beats.
10/10 would jam again.
Tonight in #Houston it’s @vanessa_peters opening for @officialmatthewsweet at @theheightstheater! Show at 8PM tickets still available!
Dearest #Nashville, this amazing #singersongwriter will be playing songs from her acclaimed new album #FoxholePrayers at @citywinerynsh tonight as part of #americanafest. Y’all don’t miss out now!
Current status: ecstasy! This Aricha Natural from @novelcoffeeroasters is quite simply AMAZING. Delicate but rich taste that fills the mouth, delicious aromatics of sweet berry, extremely balanced finish. I’m in awe of what @ryanlsmith and his team of mad scientists have achieved over the last few years. You owe it to yourself to get some of this coffee. Prepare to be blown away.

Got caught up in some nostalgia today when I came across this video from our “Tocca le Palle” tour with Italian guitar superstar @daniele_fiaschi. Here we’re in Lugagnano, Italy in our old 3-piece formation where I played drums and keybass.
This track really took me back. #vptour2015 was a tough one with us traveling all over Europe in a 15-year old beater van with no heat and me almost dying of pertussis. It’s in hard times that you find out how important good friends can be. During our travels and hardships we became a great team.
We didn’t know it at the time, but this was our last show with Daniele who went on to much bigger stages.
There’s something about the last show that’s so special. This is the point in the tour where everyone is most relaxed and playing for the sheer joy of playing, where everyone knows that this is the last time we’ll get to play together for a while. It’s like graduation day or your best friend’s wedding.
For me this will always be a special memory, not because the concert itself was so wonderful, but because of the two great people I got to share the stage with.

Meh, just finger-tighten the shocks. They aren’t really important or anything. #mechanicfail
this page of my discography is awkwardly funny because it looks like the Fate Lions are about to pop a cap on @rhettmiller #unfortunatecoincidence
