Two words that @vanessa_peters fans will love to hear: *** LIVE ALBUM *** We recorded this show on #vptour2017 and it was great!

I’ve made something like a hundred records of all kinds with all kinds of artists, but to me, the Holy Grail of recording has always been the live album. It’s so hard to pull off: everything has to go just right, you get no second chances, and mistakes will be made. But on the other hand a great live album puts you right in the middle of the action: you can close your eyes and feel the performance come alive around you.

We had an opportunity to record this concert live on the festival stage at Stones Cafè in Vignola, Italy. While the dispersed outdoor setting did lose some of the crowd energy, the performance was good and the soundman Franco did an excellent job of capturing the sound of the show. The result will be a first for Vanessa and two firsts for me: the first time to perform on a live album, and the first time to mix one. I’m so excited I could pee my britches!!
